The NEXT ARChive
The ARChive has spent the last few months creating a development plan. In it we conjure up the NEXT ARChive, an outline of where we want to go, if we want to become more public and how we might reach these goals. Exploring our options has led to meetings with city, state and federal officials -- or at least trying to (Hillary, Mayor Mike: Let's do lunch?) -- as well as with bankers, financiers, entrepreneurs, realtors, record company executives, artists, university presidents, librarians and anyone who ever thought the ARChive was a good idea. While we have an ideal structure in mind, it is this process that will spell out realistic options.
It may be that we partner with another private or public organization or that we buy our own building; relocate or just store the collection out of the city and keep the offices and a gallery in Tribeca. We hope that by the time the next endless winter arrives, the NEXT ARChive will be well-defined and ready to
move forward.
