| 1970 | | First episode of The Partridge Family TV show aired on ABC. Starring David Cassidy, Susan Dey and David's real life step mom as his Mom, the plot is about a familybubblegum band that tools around in a psychadelic bus. The next day David's single, "I Think I Love You", makes the Cashbox charts (Billboard on 10/10) and goes on to be the biggest selling record of the year, selling nearly 5 million worldwide. At least 15 tie-in LPs released. |
| 1975 | | Bluegrass performer and Bill's brother, Charlie Monroe, dies at 72 of cancer. |
| 1976 | | Wings perform a benefit concert in St. Mark's Square, Venice to pay for repair to water damage to the art treasures there. During the show the 30,000 fans in attendance loosened paving stones and water flooded into the square. |
| 1980 | | Led Zeppelin drummer, John Bonham, dies of asphyxiation at the home of Jimmy Page. Autopsy reveals he consumed at least 40 shots of vodka. |
