2000 62 year old vocalist Johnny Taylor dies of a heart attack in Dallas Texas. Born in Crawfordsville, AK, he performed with the doo wop Five Echoes and gospel, Highway Q.C.'s, then replaced Sam Cooke in the Soul Stirrers. Taylor had his biggest hits with "Who's Making Love" (gold, 1968) and "Disco Lady" (platinum,1976).
