1973 At a Bruce Springsteen show at Max's Kansas City in NYC, CBS's John Hammond, the man who signed Bruce as well as Dylan, gets so excited that he suffers a heart attack.
1983 Watch the Nashville Network 18 hours a day- as scores of Country's brightest stars in six major American cities perform in the five hour long, live debut of Country music's premiere cable network.
1985 "We Are the World" by USA For Africa is released to record stores.

1995 Producer Dave Jordan (Bob Marley, the Specials, the Pogues) dies of a heart attack at 43 in France.
1999 C&W innovator and performer, Pee Wee King (Julius Frank Anthony Kucznski), dies at the age of 86 in Louisville, KY. King had the pop #1 in 1951 with "Slow Poke," and penned the classic, "Tennessee Waltz," that was a hit for Patti Page in 1950 (3 million sold) and eventually became the official State song.
