| 1927 | | Blues vocalist and harmonica player Little Junior Parker (Herman Parker, Jr.) born in West Memphis, Arkansas. Parker launched with Sonny Boy Williamson ('48), then with Howlin' Wolf (1949-50), B.B. King, Bobby Bland, Johnny Ace and Roscoe Gordon in the Beale Streeters ('51), formed Little Junior's Blue Flames, joined The Johnny Ace Revue ('53) which he took over that year when Ace died and renamed, Blues Consolidated. He is best known for recording the original version of, "Mystery Train," for Sun Records in 1953, later covered by Elvis Presley. |
