As a teen Stewart began as a member of his family's, The Stewart Gospel Singers, joined Don Covay in The Rainbows, then went solo when discovered by Bo Diddley and signed to Chess/Argo in 1956. Famous relations include David (Temptations) and Grace (Jewels) Ruffin. |
