1965 The Beach boys replace Glen Campbell with Bruce Johnston. Glen had stepped in temporarily for Brian Wilson, when he suffered a breakdown 5 months earlier.
1969 King Crimson play their first live show. The UK art band consisted of Robert Fripp, Greg Lake, Mike Giles, and Ian McDonald.
1969 Hanging at a King Crimson concert David Bowie is introduced to future wife and future ex-wife Angela Barnett.
1976 Folksinger Phil Ochs, suffering from depression, hangs himself at his sister's home.
1994 In Seattle nearly 7,000 fans gather outside the home of Kurt Cobain for a candlelight vigil when the news of his suicide spreads. Kurts short career, lack of marketing interests and relatively small fan base mean that few will gather in years to come.
