Reference. Fave. Just a great job. USA & Canada, grouped by region,
then state by state, then by time of year, with good indexes. Tom also
did the also excellent, more outrŽ, Wild Planet. Tom's

Fodor's, Rock & Roll Traveler USA : The Ultimate Guide to Juke

General reference on our desk at all times
Readers Encyclopedia
(William Rose BenŽt, Crowell, 1965).
Just a delight to thumb through, when those questions reference more
than music.
American Heritage Dictionary
(Houghton Mifflin). Our overly large one volume favorite.
Halliwell's Filmgoer's Companion
(Leslie Halliwell, Scribner, 1980.) Just
the best all around quick film reference there is. Officially they're
up to 7th ed., ours is 4th., -- we're just wary of later editions of this
book, new films reviewed by other people. And beware of anyone writing
a book who reviews films on TV.
